SHE DIDN’T CHASE THE SUNSET—SHE BECAME IT. At first, she reached toward the fire in the sky, allowing the golden tide to pull her into its embrace. Then she bowed into the water, releasing every version of herself that had ever forgotten her own light. When she rose, the sea carried her gown like a river of stars, and the horizon wrapped her in a crown no one could ever take away.
